July Update

After a successful fundraiser last month, we are partnering again with Big Give to launch our winter campaign.

As an ongoing supporter of our community, we’re reaching out to invite you to take part in an amazing fundraising opportunity to support our work.  

This year, we are participating in the Big Give Christmas Challenge match-funding campaign — and we’re seeking supporters to pledge £100 before 28th August 2025. 

We kindly invite you to consider donating or running a fundraiser in support of our work, helping us continue our mission and reach those who need it most. 

Here’s how it works: 

• You pledge to donate (a minimum of) £100 - no money need now. 

• In December, you’ll be asked to make your donation. 

• The amount you donate will be doubled by Big Give and then matched again through other secured funds — quadrupling the impact of your generosity to support the work of The Ripple.

The Big Community Campaign

Yet another story of disinvestment within our local area as the consultation involving the suggested closure of Marionville Fire Station has begun.

A summary of important action points

Listed are some things you can do early on to support this campaign.

• Respond to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service online consultation. They have called it the Service Delivery Review

• A date for your diary - There will be an in-person consultation on Tuesday 2nd September 2-4pm and 6-8pm (I smell a public but peaceful demonstration!!). This will be held at Craigentinny Community Centre.

• It is nice to see the support of so many of our local elected representatives on this issue. There are a number of active petitions out there you can sign, most of these can be found on Facebook.
